Springfield Green Corps – Ages 14 to 19 Years Old – Starts October 29th

ReGreen Springfield is excited to announce the launch of the Springfield Green Corps, a paid youth environmental stewardship program open to young people ages 14 to 19 living in Springfield.

The program begins October 29th and gives participants the opportunity to earn money while learning valuable skills in urban forestry, tree care, and community greening — all while making a real difference in Springfield's neighborhoods.

The Springfield Green Corps is a hands-on workforce development program designed to connect Springfield youth with meaningful environmental work in their own community. Participants will:

• Plant and care for trees throughout Springfield neighborhoods
• Learn to identify native tree species and understand their role in the urban ecosystem
• Assist with community greening events and volunteer days
• Develop job skills including teamwork, communication, and environmental stewardship
• Earn pay for their work as environmental stewards

The program is open to Springfield residents between the ages of 14 and 19 years old. No prior experience is required — just a willingness to learn and a commitment to showing up and working hard.

Springfield's urban forest is a shared resource that benefits everyone — providing shade, cleaner air, stormwater management, and cooler streets. By training the next generation of environmental stewards, the Green Corps invests in both the city's green infrastructure and its young people at the same time.
