ReGreen Springfield Receives DCR Urban Forestry Grant

We are pleased to announce that ReGreen Springfield has received a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) to support urban tree planting and stewardship programs.

This funding will allow ReGreen Springfield to expand our planting capacity, train additional volunteer stewards, and reach more Springfield neighborhoods with trees and urban forestry education.

The Massachusetts DCR Urban and Community Forestry Program provides grants and technical assistance to municipalities and nonprofits working to grow and sustain healthy urban forests across the Commonwealth. ReGreen Springfield has been a DCR partner for several years, and this grant reflects the strength of that ongoing relationship.

Grant funds will support:

• Purchase of trees for fall and spring planting seasons
• Volunteer training and stewardship supplies
• Community outreach and education events
• Data collection and urban forest monitoring
